Compatibility is essential in this tumultuous plugin economy. As we've seen new plugins being released at record speeds, it is time for EEP to dial it back and integrate more seamlessly with the builder we all love. Doing so will allow for better integration with other third-party plugins that also provide enhancements, as well as those that introduce new components.
To start, two new extensions are coming through. First, Copy/Paste functionality for - you guessed it - copying and pasting components and classes, with ten options added to each the right-click menu and keyboard shortcuts. Second, Tabulator adds the ability to jump to a different template without leaving the editor, which dramatically improves building speed and template management. Check out their respective documentation:
Version 3.0 walks back a few features as well. This is not to say that they are now gone forever, but rather that they are being redeveloped for better integration with other plugins, of which plenty of users now have several. These include:
- Right-aligned panel positioning
- Viewport Optimizer Extension (for managing plugin loaders while editing with Oxygen)
- Editor color schemes / skins
If you want to test the beta for yourself, you can download it here: https://bit.ly/2DEEsXk. Please note that I do not provide support for betas. If you decide to use it on a live site, be sure to take backups first!
Improved Keyboard Shortcuts
The now-infamous keyboard shortcuts has been redeveloped for full customization. Users will now be able to completely control every action with unique action sequences. Eventually, it will be able to use any key on the keyboard, but for now it's best to stick with numbers and letters. Read the full documentation for more information.
You may have followed one or more of the links above to new documentation pages. This is still a work in progress, but I hope to have all the general documentation complete within the next couple of weeks. Further, I hope to extend the docs with use cases and videos, as well as add many blog posts to keep the docs flowing.
Today, the decision was made to discontinue offering Editor Enhancer as either monthly or annual subscription and stick to only the LTD. If you are currently on a subscription, don't worry - you'll still be able to make payments and maintain your subscription status. The whole point is that from here on out, lifetime unlimited deal is the way for EEP.
That said, the pricing will be going up from $79 to $99. I haven't quite decided when the change will take place, but it will likely be a couple weeks from the release of Version 3.0.
Much <3 To All
With everything going on in the world - Covid-19, race relations, economics, and so much more - I hope that all of you stay safe and healthy. Wearing a mask certainly is not ideal, but it could save someone's life.
All the best and much love to every one of you.
